Amazing Arizona

Forrest Davis

My photography shares my vision of the world with others, hopefully inspiring their awe and reverence as I have for the creation around us.

Forrest Davis began his career as a photojournalist, having earned a degree in journalism from Northern Arizona University. He worked as Photo Chief for the Daily Valley News in Phoenix, Arizona, and later as Managing Editor of the Tucson Country Nights entertainment newspaper in Tucson, Arizona. His photography and writing has appeared in numerous magazines and newspapers locally and nationally.

Currently, Davis is a principal in Desert Horizons Business Group LLC, a print, online and multimedia publishing firm in Tucson. In recent years, much of his photography has been commercial work, product and architectural photography. In off hours, his passion for capturing and sharing his vision has led to an extensive collection of nature and travel photographs.

After decades of shooting primarily with 35mm film, Davis transitioned into digital photography in 2002. "Digital offers ease and versatility that wasn't possible with film in the darkroom," he has said, "but dramatic images still start with perceiving, organizing and capturing through the lens." As a result, his scenic photographs are virtually undoctored, letting the richness of the settings speak for themselves.
